New Officers Elected for 2019-2020On April 17, 2019 at the monthly membership meeting, the annual nomination of officers took place. The board members is made up of five officers and four members-at-large. Nominations for all five officers and two of the members-at-large took place at the April meeting. |
The Diana Foundation Releases New 65-Year History BookFor nearly a decade, an independent committee has worked to publish the written history of The Diana Foundation, which is the oldest continuously active gay organization in the United States. The book, “The Diana Foundation: 65 Years of History,” chronicles a full 65-year history of the organization. Author Brandon Wolf was joined by members of The Diana Foundation Book Project Committee to celebrate the release of the book at a special event on May 5 at the Westin Memorial City Hotel. |
Diana 66 is the Route to Fun and Antics on March 23The 66th Diana Awards show will take place on Saturday, March 23 at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice. The Diana Foundation hosts its annual comedic roast of Houston’s finest, and features live entertainment, dinner, open bar, and many special surprises. Tickets are on sale now for one of Houston’s funniest and most comedic black-tie events. |
The Diana Foundation Partners with the UH LibraryThe Diana Foundation is partnering with the University of Houston Libraries to begin an oral history project to record our members' stories of Houston's LGBTQ community and our experiences as a member of the longest, continuous LGBTQ organization in the country. The oral history project will be a part of our very own archives at the University of Houston M.D. Anderson Library Special Collections. |

The Diana Foundation Gives Back in 2017-2018The Diana Foundation distributed $18,500 to our local beneficiaries at our membership meeting on July 18, 2017. Thanks to our fundraising efforts throughout the past year and especially our overly successful 65th Awards Show, we almost doubled what we had planned to distribute this year. |
Houston Mayor Declares March The Diana Foundation Appreciation MonthThe Diana Foundation hosted its monthly happy hour at F Bar Houston on March 4 while featuring information about the upcoming 62nd Annual Diana Awards which will be held on March 28 at the St. Regis Hotel. The Diana Foundation has been hosting its entertainment-packed gala event for decades helping to raise funds for local Houston charities.

Celebrating the Life of John Danielson IIIThe community is invited to join in a Celebration of the Life of John Danielson III, who passed away September 13, 2014. The Celebration will be held at the Bradshaw Carter Funeral Home, 1734 W. Alabama. Please drop by for an open reception from 2 to 5 pm to share your memories of John with each other and to support his partner Brian Flores. A program of formal remarks, remembrances and music will be presented from 3 to 3:45.

Seeking 2014-15 Beneficiaries: Diana Gives BackThroughout the years, The Diana Foundation has helped raise more than $1.6 million for community and civic organizations. We are currently seeking applications for our 2014-15 beneficiaries. The deadline to apply is September 8, and area non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply. Beneficiaries will be announced at our annual Country Dinner on Saturday, October 25.

Five Local GLBTQ Organizations Receive SupportThe Diana Foundation President, John Danielson III, in the continuing tradition of the sixty-one years of the organization’s philanthropy to the GLBTQ community, presented five checks, each, in the sum of $4,500 to five community service organizations. A grand total of $22,500 was distributed at the event.

Diana's Win Best Dressed TentCongratulations to The Diana Foundation for winning Best Dressed Tent 2014 at the annual Bunnies on the Bayou event held at Fish Plaza in downtown Houston. Diana members joined thousands of festive bunnies on Easter Sunday to celebrate the holiday. Finally, Houston weather cooperated!
