Readers of Houston’s OutSmart magazine have nominated The Diana Foundation for the 2015 Gayest & Greatest Awards in five major community categories. Voting is already underway online and ends September 5.
OutSmart magazine sponsors its annual awards to feature local people, organizations and businesses that support and/or are making a difference in the Houston LGBT community. This year, The Diana Foundation has been nominated in five categories in the Community section that includes:

Favorite Local LGBT Benefit Event of the Year: “The Diana Awards”
Favorite LGBT Philanthropic Organization
Favorite LGBT Social Organization
Favorite LGBT Community Organization

OutSmart is Houston’s award-winning magazine serving the gay and lesbian community. Published monthly, OutSmart covers local and national news, politics, health, arts and entertainment, food and dining, and issues affecting the GLBT audience. OutSmart has a high profile in the gay community through local involvement, partnerships, and its website, OutSmartMagazine.com.
 
With more than 60,000 monthly readers and 95,000 annual on-line visitors, OutSmart has received recognition both locally and nationally. OutSmart was voted “Nation’s Best Local Magazine” by the Vice Versa Gay Press Awards. The Houston Press Club has presented OutSmart with many Lone Star Awards in recognition of its journalistic excellence. OutSmart has been named “Best Local Publication in Houston” by the Houston Press for four consecutive years (2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009).
 
Entering into its 21st year of publication in February 2015, OutSmart is free and distributed through more than 350 locations in Houston and surrounding areas, including Galveston, Beaumont, and College Station, and across the United States by subscription. OutSmart is also distributed at select sites in Texas cities, including Austin, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, and San Antonio.
