“We consider Rodolfo to be a great friend and a generous supporter of the Houston gay community,” said Tanner Williams, president of The Diana Foundation. “Rodolfo has created a beautiful painting that not only looks gorgeous, but will help thousands of people through the work of our beneficiaries.”
"Texas Summer Sunset" is an acrylic mix painting measuring 30x40 inches.
Rodolfo Banuelos has been painting full time for more that fifteen years. He started taking art classes in Guadalajara, Mexico where he was born with Ramiro Torreblanca, a former student of the masters Frida Khalo and Diego de Rivera. Banuelos then traveled to Paris and Montreal to continue his art studies before moving to Houston.
Banuelos’s works may be found throughout the world in private collections and commissions. His inspiration comes from water, dogs, cats, rain and faces, including portraits. Using his Mexican heritage, he uses bright colors but also likes black and white.
Now a cancer survivor, Banuelos prefers to paint subjects representing happiness and joy.
