The Diana Foundation is proud to announce that superstar Steve Grand, "All American Boy," will headline the 2015 Diana Country Dinner Weekend October 2-4. Country Dinner Weekend will include three events including a special VIP Meet & Greet party and a featured performance with Steve Grand on October 2 and 3. Tickets are available for sale to the public.
Steve Grand hit the national stage with his 2013 release of “All American Boy,” his debut single. The song became a smash, viral hit, thanks in part to the self-produced and self-financed video, which went from zero to a million views on YouTube in a matter of days, all without the help of a label, a manager, or an agent. The imagery was pure Americana—campfires, American flags, country roads, whiskey, and hunky, shirtless men. But there was a twist.

The song and video (now with close to 4 million views and counting) both depict a situation familiar to many people—an unrequited crush of someone out of reach, that burning desire for someone you can never have. It’s a universal truth, but Steve’s story was even more affecting, because he was telling that story from the perspective of a gay man who had a crush on a straight man. It’s not something that has ever been depicted in music quite so overtly.

“We are very excited to welcome Steve to Houston,” said Tanner Williams, president of The Diana Foundation. “Steve is an amazing talent and a role model for people around the world.”

Steve will feature music from his full-length album, recorded with producer Aaron Johnson (who produced The Fray), “All American Boy”, which fans and event attendees will be inspired by. Grand’s web site may be found online at www.stevegrand.com featuring music, videos, and tour information.

The Diana Country Dinner has been a long-held Houston tradition dating back to when it was a private party of the late Diana president Charles Hebert. The party grew to become a large public social event for the Houston gay community and one of The Diana Foundation’s biggest fundraisers. Proceeds from this year’s event will assist the foundation’s 2015-16 beneficiaries. Historical information about the dinner may be found at www.fb.com/TheDianaFDN.

This year’s Country Dinner Weekend will include a kick-off event with Steve Grand, the traditional Saturday Country Dinner and Dance with entertainment by the Story Book Road Band with a special performance by Grand, and concludes with the Roundup Sunday Brunch with live entertainment provided by the Singing Duo Bubba and Greg. Each event takes place at a different location throughout the city.

“The first weekend of October is going to be big,” said Williams. “Everyone should be looking forward to one of the best party weekends of the year.”
