The Diana Foundation announced the organizations that have been selected as our 2015-16 beneficiaries at the Diana monthly Jazz Happy Hour on August 5 at F Bar Houston. Five deserving organizations received recognition and will be a focus of our organization throughout the year.

This year’s selection process included a public announcement to receive applications beginning in April, a screening process by the new Diana Beneficiary Committee, and a final review by the Diana Board of Directors. A two-month review period was used to provide all Diana members with an opportunity to provide input.

“Congratulations to each of our named beneficiaries,” said Tanner Williams, president of The Diana Foundation. “Our members took a thoughtful approach to choose five amazing organizations. The decision was not easy; however, we are excited to continue our steadfast support to Houston’s GLBT community.”

The Diana Foundation’s mission focuses financial support to nonprofit organizations in the areas of healthcare and health services, cultural/educational endeavors, and historical preservation. Throughout history, substantial funds have been raised for Houston area charities serving thousands of people in our community.

Two major fundraising events are held each year which are the Diana Country Dinner Weekend and the annual Diana Awards gala. Country Dinner Weekend is scheduled this year for October 2-4 featuring superstar Steve Grand, The Story Book Road Band, and the Singing Duo Bubba and Greg. Tickets for Country Dinner Weekend are on sale now. The 63rd Diana Awards is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel—details about this event coming soon. Proceeds from both events will help support our selected beneficiaries.

“The Diana Foundation has a long history of supporting important causes in our community,” said Williams. “We have a fantastic year planned that will be fun, and we will help bring awareness to the work our beneficiaries are doing to help others.”
